Join us to compare wines made from two powerhouse fourth generation wine makers- brother and sister- Ernesto and Laura Catena. Our favorite South American wine expert, “Poncho,” will be here to dive into the history and comparisons of Tikal’s art in a bottle and Luca’s rebellious winemaking. Different styles, one passion- world class wine. To pair with these gorgeous Argentine wines, Chef Janene from Raduno is preparing mouthwatering carne asada.
Tikal was founded by Ernesto Catena, a 4th generation winemaker of Italian descent who, having spent a part of his life working as a designer and being a fervent student of Renaissance humanism, sees it as his mission to transform everything in his wine world into art, from growing the grapes to making wine to selling it.
“In 1997, I felt my country’s calling. Our Argentine wines were unknown around the World. I learned about the 500 year-old history of Argentine wine and realized that in my country there was everything to discover. I set out to challenge and break rules to make Argentine wines that could shine. In 1999, I made the first vintage of my Luca Wines. Choosing the name was easy; it was my newborn son’s.” – Laura Catena.
